Always the same when things are going to good

Ok I am reaching out to touch everyone's experience

I have had the car for over a week now and loved every second ( not the fuel bill but you don't buy this car for that )

I am getting a well sort of tapping knocking when running at 10 to 20 mph over rough ground

It's beginning to bother me badly

Ok at take off and at top end

Replaced rear drop links because I thaught the made a noise but felt ok

My friend has ramps and has the rocker attachment to sort of shake the car and feel for movement

I can't feel anything

Not one iota

Does anyone have any other ideas

Checked for anything loose can't find it under the bonnet

Inside the car has been emptied

Still nothing

But this god damn ddddddd at 10 mph over rough ground even the slow down strips on the motorway sets it off

Any ideas " anyone had this ? "

Or is it time for the funny farm 😡

A shaker platform rarely diagnoses a compression arm bush fail (bannana bar). I've had this with mine and since replacing them it's gone. Both had zero movement when inspected before replacement and even passed an MOT. The other option is drop links but they are normally easier to diagnose.

does it sound like its something rattling around in the boot, rather than under the car? does it actually clonk when going over bumps, or is it just road vibrations is shaking something thats loose?

exhaust heat shields are known to come loose and rattle.

Is it from front or rear?

If front it's probably as others have said the banana arms.

I had a knocking tapping sound from rear and emptied boot, it was still there until I realised the jack had become loose in its plastic housing.

Not sure if the Z's have jacks though..

Well now I am ready to try anything

The banana arms ?

Ok I will go for it and do the front drop like as well no harm not to

Do the arms come whole with bushes ?

Do I have to buy the bushes and press out then press in the new ones ?

How much do you think two front banana arms with all the bushes in and with 2 front drop links ? Mega bucks or controllable ?

Are they a bas);&& to fit ?

Thanks for the help I need it 😕

Best regards......

Alan.

Ok I have read the thread and I will try out the break test tomorrow I can see and understand where he is coming from when you break.

Do you just buy the bushes and press them in the banana bars

Or do you buy the banana bars with the new bushes in them ?

What's the price for them

Anyone just baught them and know the prices ?

Going to try looking for them on the net but don't want to fit them to find out they are rubbish.

Do I have to go to nissan to get own parts ?

Thanks for everyone help

I will get my z back to normal lol

Thanks for everyone help

Alan.

Most people buy a complete arm with bushes in place. Best to get genuine parts but try to avoid nissan dealer prices. Some have the old bushes pressed out and uprated polybush replacements. Try independent traders on this site.

Also replace the little rubber cone bushes when doing the bannana arms. I paid around 230 each from a trader on here which compared to the 300 plus nissan wanted was a bargain.

I think I might have the same thing. My initial thought was that the wheels need balancing (which they do) as I've gotten weird rumbling from a car before due to poor/no balancing (although this was going 60+).

Guess I'll be dishing out some time soon.

I mean this from the help I received over and above from one of the forum members.

If it was not for him I would be in a worce place with my car.
