Shock socks

Warm sunny day so removed wheels for deep clean and fitted the Tegiwa shock socks i have had for over 6 months, they keep dirt and corrosion from the shocks also as i have single walled Tein monoflexes it will also help prevent any debris damage .

For me though, that's like driving around with covers on wheels - You can't see the awesome green'ness

Are they waterproof or do they retain water, if so won't this encourage rust damage?

Neoprene and waterproof, so should be ok, have had similar on my motorcycle for 5 years and have done a great job of keeping everything pristine.
