what have you got in there just now? grade and brand are important. If your not sure of the brand then I would do an oil change. you dont want to be mixing oils. Or if the oil hasnt dropped that low and you can wait till your next service I would wait so at least you have all the same stuff in there

Mixing oils for a top up isn't as bad as running low on oil, I wouldn't worry too much as long as it's a decent quality one i.e. not Magnatec.

 

5w-30, 5w-40, 0w-30, 0w-40, 10w-40, anything around there will be fine.

I like what someone posted the other day, it was along the lines of:

 

"Magnatec might be sh!te, but it's still a better lubricant than air!" :)
