If you want decent power then a V8 swap is probbaly the easiest way to go ......... but Id add that not everyone can handle 450 - 600hp in a car, is it worth £10K if youre never going to use more than 3/4 throttle?

Can you point me in the direction of an Easy V8 swap for £10k please.

What's your set up mate ?

Currently attached to the engine is

Motordyne TDX V2 Exhaust

PPE Engineering RHD Long Tube Manifold

Southbend Lightweight Flywheel

Southbend Uprated Clutch (Can't remember which off the top of my head)

Z1 Motorsport Hardened Engine Mounts

Injen Ultra Long Intakes

Z1 Motorsport Hardened Transmission Mount

What i'll have coming in the new year is a ported and flowed Intake Manifold and some custom made 3" Short Velocity Stack Intakes (I saw some guys in the US do this so decided to jump on the band wagon)

So roughly 450 at the fly ?

How much more weight does the ls engine weigh to the HR?

LS engines are surprisingly light as they have a push rod design instead of overhead cams, and its certainly more compact than a VQ35. I wouldn't be surprised if its similar in wiehgt to the VQ35, its certainly lighter than the inline 3.0 six cylinder in my E46.

heres a pic comparing a pushrod V8 to an OHC Nissan V6:
