Wayne370Z Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It`s now completely back to standard - Some little @%$$! nicked my "high performance" alloy valve caps the other month so the original silver plastic ones were put back on, although, I was quite surprised that they did last 18 months or so, and today on the way to the post office the alloy tax disc holder decided that the honourable thing to do was to jump off the windscreen rather than wait and be forcibly removed tomorrow ! GIXXERUK Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Can you feel a difference in power or torque without the valve caps ? I know when I fitted mine the traction control kept kicking in due the reduced weight 3 Quote
Wayne370Z Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 Yeah, I think the reduced weight of the plastic over alloy caps and losing the tax disc holder must have added at least as much BHP as the stripe does. So probably got as much as the Nismo now ..... 2 Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 You're not getting the full advantage without a remap 1 Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 You should really start a build thread now Quote
Wayne370Z Posted September 30, 2014 Author Posted September 30, 2014 I`ll probably leave that until after the new car smell has completely dissipated and I think about adding an air freshener. I quite like the ones that fit in the cup holder - they look OEM and don't obscure the view through the windscreen like rear view mirror hanging ones but I`ll have to seek further advice when the time comes and see which is better in terms of BHP gains.... 1 Quote
GIXXERUK Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Abbey state that the best gains by far on the dyno have been with a magic tree.....it's your money but think carefully Edited September 30, 2014 by GIXXERUK 2 Quote
Wasso Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 You should really start a build thread now But with the dismantling of parts, surely this is now a "un-build thread"? Quote
oldbonesmcgee Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'm gonna try this mod tonight, my eye always catches that tax disc holder and I can't help but think its just needless weight. After removing the back box and soon the cats, it seems pointless not to do it as well. Quote
oldbonesmcgee Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Although I have just noticed this lightweight tax disc holder... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Richbrook-Tax-Disc-Holder-Lightweight-Aluminium-/261609313155?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item3ce9215383 for the OEM plus look Quote

cmck13 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Mines considerably lighter without the wife . 1 Quote
