Limp mode with all braking lights

Started my 05 std car today and the engine light came on. Drove on this with no noticeable problem. Stopped the car and restarted and the car drove ok on the edc and traction control slid light was on as I was driving I noticed that I had no wipers or other lights working on the dash the fan was working but not the rear de mister. I then stopped the car and when I restarted it is now in limp mode with all the brake lights on (4 of them). Oh and when I unlocked the car earlier the rear wiper came on???? Anyone any ideas please????

Dying battery making electrics go bananas?

The IPDM unit can get corrosion damage from water ingress and give symptoms like that it would be worth checking it.

 

New units are around £400.

If its a new battery check the connections haven't come loose.

Yes I know it now had to check a fuse last year in it. Think the best way forward it to try and get the error code tomorrow. Thanks for the help. Oh and yes I disconnected the battery for a few mins to reset the ecu so it's ok

Ok car has two codes p1124 and p2135 but isn't in limp mode anymore. Car running but only half of the electrics working no wipers no indicators but I have lights although no rev counter and the speedo is jumping up and down. Got the car home reset the ecu and it's working perfect. Any ideas would be welcome??
