gstraw Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Hey I've seen a 2009 370 which i like but am i right in thinking it doesnt have the connect plus system? which has iPod and postcode gps? can i upgrade my 2009 system to a 2010 and also add a reverse light camera? thanks in advance Quote
GIXXERUK Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I haven't seen the upgrade done but I can't see why not, how easy it would be is unknown, checkout 370z.com, maybe someone has done it there You can fit a reverse cam to either unit but they are fitted/wired differently Quote
GIXXERUK Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I'm sure sourcing a connect premium unit wouldnt be easy or cheap Quote
Lexx Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 There was a connect premium system that had been removed from a Micra on eBay a few weeks back for £190. Quote
gstraw Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 Still though £190 is a lot of money. I would rather get a complete aftermarket with a better amp built in like alpine. But I've heard that the connect system is integral to the car so can't really be removed?! :s Is the same one in the micra?! Blimey! Lol Quote
gstraw Posted February 13, 2014 Author Posted February 13, 2014 Okay. Silly qu again but the Americans all seem to be changing their head units for aftermarket ones. I thought we couldn't change the HU since everything is linked to it?? When people change the HU do they all need to change the speakers too? Thanks Quote
oldbonesmcgee Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 The people in the states changing their systems for aftermarket ones likely started without the nav unit. That way you can just remove the stereo like a normal car. Quote

If you have the NAV then its pretty hard as its all linked in. I either wanted connect premium or none Nav model so I could add my own in. I saved a good 2K over a 2010 model so using half of that for a decent double DIN Quote
Cake Posted April 2, 2014 Posted April 2, 2014 I believe if you have the standard and move I a 2010 connect premium then you also need to change the ECU and maybe other components. Someone tried and left it at that once they found it out. Better off going after market as mentioned. Quote
