Morning all,

Had a search but could not really find anything definitive. A few days ago my my brother noticed one of my headlights was shining pink, the next day it was not on at all, side light still worked fine but main bulb is out.

Its a 2006 rev up, how often is it just the bulb? The pink light for a few hours has made me unsure!

Thanks

It will be a HID I would think and they will change colour as theyre dying. It could of course be the ballast on the rear but just buy a new bulb and see, im sure you will be fine.

HID's do and will stil go, but nowhere near as often as a regular bulb.

A ballast fault would likely show itself as an instant change, one day its fine, the next day its pink, but a blown bulb would probably be a gradual change.

Can some one clear up what bulb I need please, popped to a local motor place and they told me d2s, then popped halfords to then be told its definitely d2r.

They also wanted 70 a bulb?

Buy online, much cheaper than halfrauds! Nightmare of a job to change it also. I'm sure facelift is the D2R but somewhere on here there is a guide which will confirm

I'm confused as to what model car I even own to be honest and that's not helping in figuring out right bulb!

I was sold it as a 2006 rev up, but Im unsure on how to tell if it is or a 276. I'm probably being really thick but any sure fire ways to tell?

Also does it have high and low beam xenons or does it have a halogen high beam? Does it have led's for break lights or normal bulbs ?

If the hazard button is in front of the gear stick, you have LED rears and 4 orange LEDs on the side of your headlamps it'll be a 296 facelift using D2S bulbs. If the hazard button is behind the gear stick near the heated seat switch and you have orange reflectors on you headlights, it'll be a pre 2006 and require D2R bulbs.

Looks like I have a pre 2006 then! Not really bothered as at least it means I should not have the oil consumption issue.

Thanks for clearing that up boys.

on the down side your paying double tax. not all facelifts have issues btw. Mines is a facelift and uses no oil at all.
