Kennydies Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 Has anyone been to Thailand in August? I have always gone at the end of the year and am used to just walking into a hotel and getting a room. Is it busy in August and will I need to book a room. Am going to the usual destinations, Koh Samui, Phuket, Krabi and maybe singapore... Ta Quote

letank87 Posted June 19, 2007 Posted June 19, 2007 I went to Phuket for a weekend in August '05 whilst travelling around SE Asia and Australia. We stayed at the Patong Merlin Hotel (see link). I think it was about £20 per room per night. Quite a lot for Thailand, but it was a nice hotel and in a good spot! http://www.merlinphuket.com/patong/ We booked only a week in advance but I'm sure we could have booked when we got there as it wasn't that busy. Mind you, it was the first summer after the tsunami so that might have had something to do with it??? Quote
