If they're doing 50-70 tests in 4th gear then fair point, but not at redline with WOT. It's top end figures that are really dictated by power and aero, as well as gearing. Most normal fun stuff is only geared/powered to around 160. Watch this week's Harris 991TT vs 12C vid for proof of just how much difference power makes when you get out of the realms of 'normal' speed.
