Why would I need new compression / banana arms?

Probably a stupid question and one with a logical answer...

I'm pretty sure mine need replacing... or at least the bushes do. Is there any reason to replace the entire arm or will just the bushes be sufficient? The reason I ask is that the uprated polybushes are about £200 and the arms (with stock bushes) are £500!

I assume that the arm itself can fail? How would you identify this?

It's the ball joint in the arm that cannot be replaced, thus necessitating a replacement arm complete. Unfortunately this failure is notoriously difficult to diagnose but is usually associated with a dull thud/rattle when driving slowly over bumpy surfaces (and stops when you left foot brake whilst maintaining the low speed)

ETA not a stupid question !!!

Genuine Nissan compression rod bushings are £39.50 each.

Genuine Nissan compression rods are circa £225.00 each.

The seating cones are £10.00 each and the ball joint nuts are £5.00 each

Should also have some Polybushings left in stock as well, if you wish yo go that route.

All showing in stock at the moment Paddy.

Just drop me a PM if I can help further.

Alex. :)
