StuartL Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 I have finally decided after three years and two cars later to buy a new 350Z. Its been my favourite all along but with house moves etc has been put on hold. So if my first decision between the new Audi TT (sorry I had to try it) and the 350Z was not bad enough, I now have to choose which colour. Do I play it safe and go for the Twilight Grey or throw all reason aside and go for the Temper Orange? Having trawled the net for the entire rainy weekend to find some realistic shots of the colour, I would like to ask my first bit of advice as a newbie; has anyone seen the new Temper Orange in the flesh and if so what did you think? Its been hard enough finding a 2007 Z to try, but one in Orange is just impossible, dealers obviously play it safe and stick with black. I am ordering the car in the morning for delivery late August, will therefore wait until September 1st to register. Not wishing to abuse my first message, but any ideas of where to get the best price for my current Megane 225 Trophy, dealer has offered pretty poor trade in so any extra ££Â£'s would be welcome. holtehero Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 If your anywhere near Cambridge, the dealer principle of Marshalls has just taken delivery of one in Orange, there is a thread here with some pics (it currently has stripes tho) Quote
Jacko Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 And if you look here, you will see pics of Twilight Grey (replacement for Gunmetal) that I took on Saturday.... http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7389&start=15 Looked a bit boring for me, out of the two..... be orange all the way! Quote
AndyC Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 mate!! Enjoy the forum. Orange info here with pics: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7568 Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 Welcome to the forum. The orange certainly seems to be a talking point so I guess that helps with it's popularity. I would try the Megane on Piston Heads, it is free afterall. Quote
StuartL Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 Thanks for the links, info and welcome. Guess I will toss a coin in the morning to decide or put dealer off another day or so!!! Strangely enough a vote around the office today revealed the office girls prefer the silver and the warehouse lads the Orange so that did'nt help one bit either. Cambs is not that far away so may have a run down tomorrow to check it out. Quote
monkfish Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Don't listen to Sarnie. He's got attention deficit disorder. That's why he needs flourescent cars. Welcome by the way!! Quote
rmmackfc Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Welcome mate Any colour, doesn't matter, they're all good My choice would be Orange though Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Welcome on board, whichever colour you decide on, one things for sure, it’ll definitely give you more smiles per miles… Quote
H5 Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Welcome! Personally I think the car looks good in any colour. I went for the GM as I thought it was the best metallic colour, and I can't stand flat paint. Just me though. Quote
MAB Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 As everybody has said, colour is such a personal thing. My heart would say Orange , but my head the grey. You can get anway with a bit more if you don't stand out so much. ps Welcome and enjoy Quote
nixy Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hello and welcome. As for the colour - I like all of them, the orange looks great but then I loved the orange focus ST when that came out and now I think it's a bit common - can't see the Z having that problem for a while though - different league. Quote
M13KYF Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 go with what you really want. Sod the playing it safe angle Quote
zeedriver Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 ask the dealer if the orange uses the same type of paint as the older ones cos the black and the orange uses a much softer paint than others so more prone to scratches. either way the drive is a thrill. Quote
