s1xtyn1n3 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 I switched phone a couple of weeks ago and am having problems connecting to the Bose bluetooth adapter. I had a Galaxy S2 and have switched to an S4 and the phone pairs ok using the 1234 code but after about 10 seconds, the "Call audio" checkbox in the phone's bluetooth menu unticks. At this point the LED on the bluetooth adapter goes from red to orange - i don't know if that means its lost the paring or not.... I vaguely remember having a similar issue when I first got the S2 but cannot for the life of me what the fix was... Anyone else had this issue and found a fix? Quote
jell36 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 I'm having exactly the same problem. Tried to connect my Samsung Galaxy S4 to my factory bluetooth hands free today and it connects and then disconnects after about 10 seconds although my phone even says it is paired with the car. Don't know how to fix it. Quote
s1xtyn1n3 Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 I've read that it could be to do with the way the phone tries to share the address book via bluetooth to hands free kits that support that, but i don't know what the fix is. Hopefully this might help point others in the right direction. I'm still having no luck with my S4 Quote
colin-mck Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I'm having the same issue with a Nexus 4. Even tried ' Bluetooth Auto Connect' App to re-attempt the connection when it times out but this doesn't help. Still drops out after 5ish seconds and light on adapter goes from red back to amber. Looks like its trying to establish a connection for BT audio or address book and Nissan adapter is blocking it as protocol is wrong. Googling seems to reveal lots of issues with nexus 4, jellybean and bluetooth. If S4 is also affected then its maybe a Jellybean issue. Really annoying, don't want to have to change the head unit or stick a Parrot in there just to make and receive calls. My work iPhone pairs no problem. Quote
jell36 Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 I emailed Samsung technical support, they said it should work fine on the S4 and instructed me to do a factory reset, I have done this and the problem remains so now I'm guessing it is a jelly bean issue. Quote
Gonzo88 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I know this may not be a permanent fix however if you have an aux cable you could plug that in to your speakers and use your phone mic for calls. Therefore saving battery life by not using Bluetooth. Quote
AD5ZED Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 This is disappointing. My GS2 worked first time, no problem. GS4 just won't play, pairs Ok then disconnects after 5 seconds. :-( Will try asking the geek squad as I still have the free offer going. Quote
M13KYF Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 so it sounds like its phone issue and not the bluetooth adaptor as this hasnt changed and still works with your previous phones. Quote
modd1uk Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Anybody any update on this ? Just tried pairing my s4 and have the same issue now, mrs s3 works perfect though ? Quote
jell36 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 I updated my phone to the latest firmware through Samsung Kies (think it was released at the end of June) and since then my galaxy S4 has worked fine over Bluetooth, no more dropping the connection. Quote
Ewan27 Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Your Nexus 4's should update OTA, anyone with Samsung issues should update to the latest firmware/version of Android via the clunky Kies software. Quote
modd1uk Posted August 6, 2013 Posted August 6, 2013 Nope, i'm on the latest firmware and having exactly the same problem as s1xtyn1n3 . Mrs S3 works fine but my s4 just does the same as yours. Quote
modd1uk Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 android version 4.2.2. kernel version 3.4.0-1081224 Quote
SeeNoWeevil Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I don't suppose anyone ever found a fix for this? My Nexus 5 disconnects after about 10 seconds. Quote
PageyUK Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I never got my android phone working with it and I tried all sorts of apps and settings. I've got a Windows phone now and that works perfectly. Even the satnav from the phone cuts the radio out and tells me the next turning them returns to the music. Quote
Terence Bower Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I have exactly the same problems as the OP.Never an issue with S2 or three.S6 has been nothing but dissapointing to say the least! Quote
Sammy Posted October 8, 2020 Posted October 8, 2020 OK, 2008 Z and a Samsung Galaxy S8. The phone pairs ok but cannot connect. Sounds like this is a problem with the Z's I don't know? Any gurus out there that may have an answer? Quote
