R7 DOD Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Hi guys n girls! Recently i put down a deposit on a Z but due to a extremely incompetent dealer (dixon) i didnt end up getting it. Probably for the best as it wasnt in A1 condition. I now have no car and am looking to get one in the next week. What can i be expecting for my budget of 20k ie mileage, year, spec ect Im expectin a car no older than 2004 preferably less than 20k miles and definately not over 30k, GT pack and colours either blue, black or grey. What do you guys recon? The car i was going to buy was a touch under 20k 2004 reg with 12800 miles on in blue gt pack. I have no other choice now as in anticipation of collecting my car i ordered an exhaust of ebay Quote

rmmackfc Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Welcome mate As Zedrush has said for that money you'll be laughing, shop around and travel if required is my advice. Quote
Pingu2 Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 shouldnt be a problem to get what you want for that price Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Hi and welcome to the forum. Piston heads is always a good place to look, and one or two of our members have cars for sale at the moment as well so I guess they will be posting before too long. Quote

Check out the known issues section on here for things to look out for such as clicking rear axles and skipping cd player. Knowledge of these may give you an angle to knock the price down a bit Quote
R7 DOD Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 Cheers sarnie, If anything needs doing to the car its still under warranty and its a nissan dealer thats selling so they can fix everything before i pick it up. Ill be very awkward if they wont knock me anything off haha Quote
Dan Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Cheers guys! Just rang one up im going to look at it tommorow. Its 2006 55 reg 19k miles 1 owner fsh gt pack and rays blue with keyless entry. Be careful with that one, if it's a dealer it's too cheap. The car would do about that in Auction so it smells fishy to me - unless its an import of course. I'm always very wary when good retail cars are advertised too cheap, there is usually a reason. Make sure you do an HPI check and take an expert with you if your not sure yourself. On the other hand you may have found a bargain, I'm just saying be careful thats all Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Another angle you can use to barter with is the fact that the car although registered in 2006 is not a facelift model with the 2006 MY mods. Quote
R7 DOD Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 I recon its genuine as proper nissan dealers would have to HPI there care and the salesman said he supplied the car to its 1st owner so must be a uk car. It does seem quite cheap so ill have to have a good look round it. Plenty of warranty left not that it seems to count for much from what ive heard. Got my garage cleaned out already just need a car to stick in it Quote
Dan Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 I recon its genuine as proper nissan dealers would have to HPI there care Any dealer with half a brain cell runs HPI checks on their cars, it costs £3.45. Quote
R7 DOD Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Car was genuine. So either thursday of friday this week ill be the proud owner of a Z!!!!! Car was in mint condition. Not a scratch no clicking from rear axle or anything. Theyve given me a liftime warranty with the car too but not sure if thats worth anything. Turned out to be a 2005 but ah well. Quote
Trev-the-Rev Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Looks good. Sounds as if you've got yourself a nice car Quote
lomoto Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 nice car , great price looks like you bought it in the Midlands ?? Quote
Morg Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Congrats Theyve given me a liftime warranty with the car too but not sure if thats worth anything. Depends on the coverage & how long you keep the car but i'd say its a nice bonus. Quote
R7 DOD Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 Lomoto: Yeah i did mate got it from Ilkestion in Derbyshire. Only an hour tops from my house. Morg:only tend to keep cars a year but since this is a nice one might keep it a bit longer. Ordered a scorpion exhaust of ebay but they're so f*ckin slow takes them 3 days to send me a message. Wouldnt recomend them but for £280 for a exhaust you cant grumble too much. Whens the next Z meet around here? might tag along. Quote
Removed Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 keyless entry? no Z has keyless entry... you need to press the key to unlock it mate Quote
R7 DOD Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 keyless entry? no Z has keyless entry... you need to press the key to unlock it mate Haha yeah i asked the dealer he said it was just the retard that advertised it and he meant it had remote central locking. Some people ay! Keyless entry is gay anyway my parents lexus had it, can never check to see if its locked. Quote
M13KYF Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 with keyless entry! don't think the dealer really knows what he is talking about Anyway glad your sorted Quote
nixy Posted May 8, 2007 Posted May 8, 2007 can someone tell me what keyless entry is? Does a butler come out and open the door for you? Nice car by the way. Quote
