sloutrou Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Hi all, Just about to have a look at some Rays for sale to replace my factory standard alloys, is the 18x8jj correct and is this what it should be for all four wheels? Want to make 100% sure I'm buying a good set. Thanks Jez Quote

Neilp Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 8j and 8.5j I think, I'm a bit rusty with those sizes though Quote
ZMANALEX Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 Jez, 18" Rays are 8.0jj front and 8.5jj rear Offsets are 30 front and 33 rear. Alex. Quote
sloutrou Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Thanks for the info all Is there something written on the wheels themselves that I will need to check, I'm concerned that someone might be selling four front or four rears. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 It is all stamped on the inside face. Alex. Quote
sloutrou Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 Brilliant, cheers Alex. I've wanted Rays since I've owned the car so want to be sure, and they're selling for £300 for the set Quote
sloutrou Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 No luck I had a look at the inside face of every wheel, all four were stamped front so I've not bought them. I don't know how much of a genuine difference this makes and whether I've missed a good deal or not? Quote
Fluke Posted April 28, 2013 Posted April 28, 2013 What difference would it make, can't you just fit spacers anyway? Quote
sloutrou Posted April 28, 2013 Author Posted April 28, 2013 I honestly don't know what/how much of a difference it would have made, I guess I wanted to feel like I was buying a true set and not just a set of fronts. I don't know a lot about tyre sizes and offsets etc. They've gone now, which I kind of expected given the price, so my quest continues... Quote
HaydnH Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Rays come up for sale pretty often, just keep an eye on the for sale forum. Quote
Fluke Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 Does it make a difference having 8.0 front and rear? Quote
4RE Leather Posted April 29, 2013 Posted April 29, 2013 There is a bolt on the disk to prevent you putting the rears on the fronts Plus you can see by placing a front and rear side by side on the ground. The fronts are noticably not so deep as the rears. Quote
Fluke Posted April 30, 2013 Posted April 30, 2013 Are the wheels the same size, but the tyres different? Quote
peteman35 Posted May 1, 2013 Posted May 1, 2013 As other people have said before. Front 18x8jj +30 225/45 tyre Rear 18x8.5jj +33 245/45 tyre Quote
