Disc skim or replace?

The ol' brake discs seem to have developed a bit of a shimmy through the pedal over the winter, I'm guessing there's some pad deposit on the disc from the long weeks of storage. This is despite not leaving the brakes on and just leaving it in gear.

 

There appears to be ProCut garages nearby, but what's the normal cost Vs upgrading the front discs? I still have the originals on the car, done 22K so far and otherwise look fine really. Am I changing pads whatever?

I would find a quiet road and give them a good bed in which should sort your issues.

 

They won't require a full blown bed in prosedure carried out but at least 6-8 stops.

I had a similar issue (albeit on 1 year old discs), just do the bedding in procedure that Alex suggests.

Ah, ok. Cheers Al, I didn't know if a re-bedding was possible or not. Will have to try that then.

I know Tophooker is on the forum but he's totally the wrong end of the country for me.
