Seabee Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Ok guys as the title says how do I get a cheap key coded to my car? Can you programme them yourself or is it a stealership job? All i can find is the us and uk zeds programme differently, I live in South Wales so any local suggestions would be appreciated also Quote
Gonzo88 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I was in the same boat and Nissan quoted £200 Quote
Seabee Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Did you end up just going with Nissan? Quote
Flex Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 These are from the one of the US forums, might not be applicable If not sorry, try google, might churn something up Quote
ph 7 Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Nope, in the UK it is a different process. Involving putting the key in and turning from off to on 6 times....there is a thread on it somewhere. Quote
jables Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 The programming looks easy enough. So is it just a case of getting the key cut and then programming it yourself? How much should you expect to pay for just the key? Quote
Seabee Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Yea is this the case? Lol does the transponder need to programmed via obd? Quote
Watshot Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 One on ebay for £29 delivered. Couple of cheaper one's if you go abroad. May be worth getting a price from Nissan for a blank sub key and coding it yourself. Quote
MidnightRacer Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 the reprogram yourself function is just the keyless entry bit. you need the dealer to program the transponder to your car which is usually the expensive part! Quote
Seabee Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 I thought it sounded to good to be true lol Quote
