Av8er Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 So ever since I've got the Zed it seemed to me that it DRANK fuel, I'm talking £95 every fortnight. Don't get me wrong, I was expecting a thirsty little bird, but my girl is a true petrolholic!! Sent the car for its MOT this week and she failed on emissions, with a hole in the exhaust, now not too sure if my thought process is correct, but would this once fixed have any positive effect on the ol' girls drinking habbits? SteveW Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 Depending how many miles your doing your petrol cost is similar to mine you should get about 600 miles. Sadly the removal of the holey exhaust wont make any difference that you'll notice. Quote
spursmaddave Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 How many miles do you do a fortnight and what sort of driving You should be able to get mid 20's mixed driving easily, over 30 on a long run and low 20's around town Quote
Av8er Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 I haven't really got a clue how many miles per gallon I'm getting, the dial reads in km/L, but the speed display also says in KM/H but the reading is actually MPH.. Quote
Av8er Posted February 6, 2013 Author Posted February 6, 2013 Well on average I get a reading of 11km/L which to me makes about 44km/Gal, making that 44000/1600= 27.5MPG That seems fine to me, but just never actually seems like it. I haven't ever though of resetting the ODO to find out exactly... Maybe I should try that... I'll get my coat Quote
AMT Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 £95 every two weeks is nothing...thats only £190 per month... I wish I was only spending that lol Quote
Allan Zada Posted February 6, 2013 Posted February 6, 2013 I get 300ish miles for £100 of fuel, Quote

taras Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I think our Zeds are reaching that age where this is a common fault now because the last 3 exhaust changes we did, we've discovered the stock system had rotten joins just in front of the back box before the flange. I one case it had rotten right through. So if you have a original exhaust, do check that spot for rust corrosion. Quote
rabbitstew Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I used to get about 25mpg out of mine if i took it steady. Was costing me about £500 a month! Quote
AMT Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Because I like the sound of my exhaust way too much I have a fetish with 2nd gear and slowly letting the revs rise.... So nice....so expensive...but lets go back to ..so nice Quote
