Arran Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 As above really, I know we'd be talking minimal if any gains at all, but seeing as ive got the y pipe back exhaust already and will be going for silenced decats very soon. I was wondering if it would be worth spending the extra on a y pipe at the same time? If not the money could be used elsewhere tbh Cheers all Arran Quote
spursmaddave Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 I am sure you would get a small gain especially with decats but would you notice it.... probably not really Quote
Dblock Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Tbh probably not but whilst your there it's done thing. I'd go for a stillen as there is no flexi's do no need to repair it when it goes. Or wait for a second hand one. Quote
Arran Posted December 3, 2012 Author Posted December 3, 2012 I'd go for a cobra one seeing as the rest is cobra if I was to go for one, trouble is I want silenced decats but the ones I've seen don't have any brackets on them so they might rattle? The straight through ones seem to have the brackets but I know they'll be far to noisy Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 It’s one of the most restrictive parts of the OEM system, Arran, the Cobra Y pipe will marry up perfectly to the Cobra exhaust we supplied to you... Drop me a call or email if you need more info... Quote
Dblock Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Agreed then. I thought you had an oem system. Bennet said it improved the note slightly. I'm got mine fitted all at once so I couldn't tell you. Quote
evilscorp Posted December 3, 2012 Posted December 3, 2012 Ive got silenced decats, no brackets and no rattle. I would get the cobra y pipe if you are getting decats, no point having a resticion in the middle of your system, also means you will have a better seal rather than rusty old y-pipe flanges, its a lot easier to fit a new ypipe than decats if you are doing it yourself. RobPhoboS Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 Is replacing the y-pipe an easy job to do at home ? Quote
SteveW Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 If the bolts come undone yes. If not prepare for lots of anger, swearing and ultimately taking an angle grinder to it all. Make sure you use decent six sided sockets on the nuts to prevent rounding. 1 Quote
RobPhoboS Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 If I find it's going to be a pain in the butt for me to try and do, any idea roughly what it should cost to have done ? Thanks again. Quote
SteveW Posted December 5, 2012 Posted December 5, 2012 (edited) Not sure mate but I wouldn't have thought much. It's only 6 nuts to undo. Labour maybe £30 plus new gaskets. Edited December 5, 2012 by SteveW 1 Quote
