Iv had my MOT done at the same place the past 5 years or so. Last year was my first MOT for the Zed, and was disappointed to find out when i asked that they put it on the rollers for the brake test. Should i take it back there and ask them to do it properly, should i take it somewhere else, suggestions welcome,or should i not worry and just get it done?

If they put it on rollers they were not paying attention to what their system was telling them about the car / they didn't give a sh*t / are incompetent - either way I wouldn't give them any further business

just to check. is it just the rear wheels that can't go on the rollers? or both front and back? And it's only when it comes to the brake test part of the mot?

Yes rear wheels and that the brake test. There was a sticky which you could print and give to the garage so they would know not to put it on the rollers.

I was dreading this when it came to MOT my zed, so I actually found a place which specialised in ferrari`s and who knew instantly not to roller test the brakes on the zed. Cost me full price MOT rather than the discounted £25 my local garage wanted, but it was worth the extra knowing they would do the job properly.

It comes up on the screen when they put you car details in not to be put on rollers !!! cant see how they can be funny about doing it correctly idiots

At my old garage the guy used to always get me to drive / operate my own car in the MOT. He never once sat in it. Id drive it onto the ramp, do the lights, brakes etc etc etc. for him.

I remember once having a car with no working handbrake "pass" the MOT as he didnt notice i was putting my foot on the brake at the same time as pulling up on the handbrake.

Now adays due to health and safety etc etc most places want you to be sitting in the waiting room area whilst they "play" with your car.
