Ok so i took my car to be re gassed today as it wasnt very cold in the cabin, the car took all the gas etc how ever they couldn't get the temperature very cold.

Is there a common issue that i might be overlooking or any suggestions of things to look into....

I have heard that even in the winter you should use the AC once a week or so to prevent the pipes in the AC system drying and cracking.

Using the AC with the heaters on sounds daft but does dry the air and helps demist the screen.

So once you get it sorted, if not using the AC all the time at least give it a good use once a week or so to keep the system "lubed and moist" :p

if your getting smells try something like liquimoly klima fresh instructions aren't great but the product works well. just did mine and the wifes car with it. my car only had a slight odour on switching off of A/C but the wifes new car was bad. now tons better.

the instructions are pictorial and in german, and some bits are clear others are not.

my basic translation of them (after using google translate  )

1. turn blowers on to full, turn heat up to max, set to air recycle, aim at the footwell leave for 10 min

2. put can in the supplied box, put in footwell aiming up the pedal vent, put A/C on, make sure its on recycle, i turned the temp down to min. set can off, shut door, leave for 10. i left it on the foor well setting but i think it showed to put it on windscreen, but don;t do it if it turns recycle off.

3. once can has expired leave engine to run for further 10 min with doors shut and previous settings.

4. open all doors turn engine off and leave for 10 min

5. job done

HI Guys ok so i have a garage that i trust looking at the car they have had an aircon specialist out to investigate the problem and his finding are as follows

Compressor seems fine clutch is activating but there is no live at the compressor, apparently there could be a release valve that is stuck and thus not allowing the current to get through ?

i had the Rad fans changed last year due to them failing is there a connector that could have been missed when fitting these etc

the local nissan dealership which the garage know quiet well have said (it could be anything best send it down for us to look at) not really up for that as they will charge a fortune yes ok it will get the thing fixed but if its something simple there not gonna let me know its something simple and still charge me a fortune

so looking for a bit more input from you guys can anyone offer advice ?
