Sarcasm is awesome. People who don't like it are too simple to understand how awesome it truly is :p;)

Might be the lowest form of wit, but it's definately the best way to mug someone off :)

Christ you guys can be unhelpful at times.

Serious response: The throttle on the Z is "smoothed" in gears 1 to 3, taking an old school wire throttle and replacing it with an elastic band is roughly how Mark@Abbey described it to me, i.e: you put you foot fully down and the car slowly moves to 100% rather than an immediate 100% throttle. I'm guessing you don't realise so much in 1st & 2nd as you don't tend to cruise around in those gears. If you'r after more responsiveness get an uprev - although you may want to consider a few other changes before hand. On the flip side, if you do a lot of city driving the extra responsiveness can be a negative as the "smoothed" throttle can help in stop/start traffic.

Speak to Abbey, RS Tuning or Horsham (all 3 on here) and they will give good advice on how to get the car where you want it - the 350Z is a lovely car in terms of being able to match it to the owners style.

But that's not what the OP is on about.

car seems a bit unresponsive in 3rd gear. ok in all others?

Basically 1st and 2nd are fine, as is 4th, 5th and 6th, but 3rd is unresponsive. That doesn't sound to me like software programming of the throttle, but something being wrong. Surely it would be better to concentrate on fixing the problem rather than trying to get more power from the engine, which would still leave you with an unresponsive 3rd gear?

The Zed definitely isn't unresponsive by nature in 3rd gear, unless you're trying to pull away from a start.

Another alternative is do some weight saving. Throw out all the mats, etc, plasticky bits in the boot + spare wheel. Then buy yourself some lightened lexus-style rear lights, replace the awful Rays with some proper bo 20 inch x 12 inch wide rears for ultimate grip & traction and then drill a few holes along the length of the exhaust to increase airflow & improve downforce.

Sarcasm is the lowest form of whit.Sad

This has to be a wind up surely ?

The absolutely best thing you can do is buy a specialized polarizing filter gadget. You stick these onto the fuel hoses going to the engine and they polarize all the molecules to align them all perfectly in a lattice just before injection giving you at least 50-60 bhp. Look for them on ebay for around £25.
