Looking to sell my beloved zed, soon to be getting a company car so the zed requires a new home

Ownership for me personally has been immense, this is the best car I have ever owned, power, looks, sound, value I could go on! It goes without saying I am a car enthusiast and like to look after my cars, the zed is certainly no exception, I often wash/wax/clay the paintwork and only every fill up using Shell V-Power fuel. The private plate will be removed prior to sale. I have a folder full of paperwork, all previous mot's and service receipts, it comes with 3 keys (2 of which are unused).

UK GT Coupe December 2003 '53 Plate, Manual, 6 Gear, Metallic Gunmetal Grey.

• MOT December 2012

• Tax Feb 2013

• Full Nissan Service History

• 55,600 miles

This has the GT pack, which comes complete with the following extras:

• Cruise Control

• HID headlights

• Heated leather seats

• 18" Rays Alloys

• Air Conditioning

• Brembo Brakes

• Electric folding mirrors

• Alezan leather seats (optional extra at point of sale)

Standard Spec List:

Service History

• 10k P1 (Mar 2005) Nissan Wessex Newport

• 15k P2 (Nov 2005) Nissan Wessex Newport

• 19k P1 (Nov 2006) Nissan Wessex Newport

• 25k P3 (Nov 2007) Nissan Wessex Newport

• 31k P1 (Nov 2008) Nissan Wessex Newport

• 41k P2 (Dec 2009) Nissan Northgate

• 48k P1 (Dec 2010) Nissan Chorley Preston

• 54k P2 (Dec 2011) Nissan Chorley Preston

Additionally, I've had the following work carried out (R=receipt present):

• Bonnet replaced with brand new under warranty, supplied and fitted by Chorley Nissan Preston R (Feb 2012) R - viewtopic.php?f=9&t=57809

• Denso Iridium Spark Plugs (Oct 2011) Supplied by Zamanalex

• All 4 Discs & Pads replaced (Oct 2011) R

• Front ARB links replaced with genuine Nissan parts (Oct 2011) R

• Alt & Air Con belts replaced with Gates belts (Jun 2011) R

• Exhaust replaced with a newer used genuine nissan (Jun 2011)

I've also made the following mods:

• Kenwood DNX7200 - includes Sat Nav, Bluetooth, iPod/Iphone connectivity, DVD/MP3/WMA playback, steering wheel controls

• Reversing Camera - looks like this one viewtopic.php?f=27&t=58783

• Stubby aerial

• Aero wipers

• LED rear numberplate bulbs

• Silvervision Chrome indicator bulbs (link for pics)

Bad Points

• Stone chips to front bumper

• Alloys could do with a refurb, curbing to fronts.

I honestly believe if the above 2 bad points were rectified this would be one of the cleanest 2003 around, the new owner will not be disappointed. The Kenwood system paired with the GT Spec offers all the mod cons you could wish for and I know for a fact my new motor won't be this loaded.

£7250

Hi,

Looks like a nice car. It's a long way for me to travel to take a look so was wondering if you would mind answering a few questions, namely:

Is it mechanically sound enough? I've been reading the forums and gettiing paranoid about clicking rear axles, clutches etc., so was wondering what it drives like or whether you felt that there are any parts that would likely need renewing before too long?

Are there any issues with rust?

What condition are the tyres in?

Are there any electrical issues such as windows not working etc.?

Is there any chance of some pictures of the front alloys and bumper that you refered to in your ad and maybe a couple of the engine bay and boot (I've got a thing about boots - no idea why)?

Sorry for all the questions but I just want to try and get a better picture before I consider setting off for Preston.

Hi Invame

Totally understand mate, good to get as much info as poss especially if your travelling a fair way :) ...

Mechanically its sound, no clicky axle issues, clutch feels fine no issues here either.

No rust issues, the only issue was with the bonnet (common prob) but i guess i've been lucky as Nissan replaced this under warranty, no other rust on the body work, in fact its in very good condition.

Tyres are all about 5mm mark, however they are all budget tyres and the zed would benefit from a better quality of tyre (as discussed on here many times), I've been looking forward to changing these for a while but couldn't bring myself to bin the budgets when theirs loads a tread left. So I guess to answer your question, the tyres are next on the list to be renewed - but certainly not immediately.

No problems with the windows, and everything else electrically works as it should including the air con

I will get some detailed pictures of the wheels/boot/engine/body close ups etc uploaded this weekend

Hi mate. I'm also interested in your car. In addition to the above questions, how many previous owners has the car had? Please drop me an email, paras_is@hotmail.com, with your number to discuss further.

Cheers

3 previous owners:

1st owner was Wessex Nissan Dealer

2nd owner acquired on 18.03.2005

3rd owner acquired on 25.02.2009

I purchased the car 12.11.2010

Thanks

Saty

Hi,

A thought just occured to me. You say that you're removing the private plate prior to sale. Am I to assume then that you've completed a number plate retention/transfer form and received a new V5, registration number and tax disc for the car?
