How to remove centre console??

In previous post I am having trouble with my heating - Does anyone actually know how to remove the console where the heater controlls are? Is it a case of getting a screwdriver behind it? Or are there some hidden clips etc? cant seem to see anything though

Unscrew gear knob, then it just lifts out.

I must be doing something wrong!! Unscrewed the gear knob and nothing moves!! any ideas??

You need to lift it from the rear of the gear surround. Just be a bit firm with it

And don't mess/bend/lookfunny/touchinappropriately/fondle the white ribbon cable if you get that far. Be very careful.

EDIT: I should clarify you'll need to disconnect it from te back o the temperature controls for better access but it's fragile so be really careful. If you try to pull the controls out too far before disconnecting it you could break it.

Wooo hoooo all fixed - I had to remove the ribbon cable, and play around for a bit but all sorted

Nice one, a bit scary when you first start pulling trim apart but once you know where the pressure points are its a piece of cake

I didnt even remove the gear knob when i did mine, just pushed the stick down into 2nd or 4th which gave me enough room to get the console out.
