350 Russ Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 tried to take off my boot struts today to send them off to sgs engineering to get them regassed. i got the bottom two botls out ok, but the ball joint on the top i couldn't budge. Does the ball joint just pop out of the socket or do you have to wind out the entire fitting? also i have a nismo v1 spoiler, does anyone know how much they weigh so they can gas them up to suit. Wasso Posted November 27, 2011 Posted November 27, 2011 You need to un-bolt both ends. If you pull the ball joint out you'll have a tough time getting it back in, if at all? Weight on the spoiler I can't help you on, try searching google Quote
350 Russ Posted November 27, 2011 Author Posted November 27, 2011 ive tried unbolting it but ended up rounding off the hex part of it, ill soak it in WD-40 and try some grips on it. Quote
Southernspeed Posted November 28, 2011 Posted November 28, 2011 If it's a stock one, lube it then twist it up the the max of it's arc movement and it should slip out ok. If it's after market look for the wire release clip. They claim to know the weight of spoilers so should do you the right pressure strut. Quote
FUG Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 how much did sgs quote for regassing two struts out of curiousity? looking to do mine also potentially in the near future. Quote
rothers2901 Posted April 28, 2012 Posted April 28, 2012 Had mine re gassed at SGS £25 for the pair and had them gassed 550 N/m2. Took them personally waited 15 minutes full finished. Quote
