1,500 miles done - serviceing question

So after 5 weeks or so, done 1500 miles (she's my daily)

 

if i'm reading the book correctly, first service is due at 9000 miles (freebie)

 

seems to me a long way off for a "performance" engine ?

 

is this correct ?

Normal these days. 9K is even slightly on the cautious side. Plenty of cars about with variable or 20k sevices.

 

Zeds engine isn't particularly highly stressed at about 75bhp per litre.

What Andy said. Unless you are feeling a bit flush and decide to get a local inderpendant to give it an oil change. Just make sure you dont put fully synth in the engine as its not run in yet

Yeah, maybe if you take the book values, rather than what the cars actually dyno at. Anyway, I'm still not wrong, and it was a 2 second calculation in my head, so being all of 5bhp out on the 350Z is hardly a disaster! I never noticed It was a 370 the OP had.

Mine has about 95HP/l (if you guesstimate fly values). The 350 used to have about 80HP/l.

I changed the oil/filter on mine after 1000 mls just to be on safe side .

Did mine after a year probably 3k miles on it or so.
