kevlo Posted May 18, 2011 Share Posted May 18, 2011 Hi guys and girls, I'm after suggestions, We are now back to being a 1 car family (just the zed) after my company car has gone back. I am looking for an estate/4x4/people carrier/van that ticks the following boxes. 1. Very reliable 2. Large enough for 2 large dogs and able to carry large load (approx size of 8 full size suitcases) 3. Very economical at least 40mpg+ 4. Something that missus wont be ashamed to drive to work every now and then (she is a finance director so wouldnt dirty big van to work) the following are not must haves but would like 5. sporty drive (not boring, obvious choice would be volvo estate but they are just drab!!) 6. highly specced (leather, electrics etc) I am after all this for the massive sum of around £3000 Any suggestions? rabbitstew Posted May 19, 2011 Share Posted May 19, 2011 +1 on the Passat estate from me. My whole family have VW`s and if you get one with the PD engine they are mega economical and sporty. You can get 150bhp upwards on them and still get nearly 60mpg. Loads of space inside and nice solid build quality. They are also easy to work on mechanically and replacement parts are very cheap.
