Removed Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 is it a complete replacement or does it go on top of it? looks good! PS that plastic looks a bit grubby, Gus, do something about it! Quote
Gus Posted November 18, 2006 Author Posted November 18, 2006 Cheers guys It fits on top of the silver one, with double-sided sticky tape. You have to dismantle the plastic bits in order to fit it. Almost a perfect fit, could have done with being about 2mm wider at the left hand side. Dirty plastic - yeah , too many dirty walking boots Gus Quote
Removed Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 how much was it from Richie? I'm tempted either by that or colour code it if I find another spare cover Quote
Gus Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Val, It was $AU 165, plus $AU 38 shipping - £85, then got £14 import charges and £4 Royal Mail "handling fee", so £103 all in Gus Quote
Removed Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 wow, more expensive than I thought Think I'm going down the colour coding route Quote
Digsy Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 I'm not a massive CF fan but that looks , Gus. Considering how easy it is to scratch the standard one this could be quite a good find. Quote
DJ Dunk Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Nice, is the rear screen glare improved over the silver one ? Quote

Gus Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Nice, is the rear screen glare improved over the silver one ? Yep, not quite so bad Quote
Gus Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 Bloody 'ell. Stop putting stuff in your car that doesnt fit in the boot space Ehh ? The space behind the strut is also part of the boot, is it not Gus Quote

ir_fuel Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 And what would you carry in your car that requires going over the strut brace? I mean, there are no heaps of space between the brace and the window. Quote
sl114 Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 Awesome dude! I love it. My only quibble is it doesnt stand out as much as the silver one, but thats all cool and CF is the way forward! Quote
Digsy Posted November 19, 2006 Posted November 19, 2006 And what would you carry in your car that requires going over the strut brace? I mean, there are no heaps of space between the brace and the window. Is that a serious question? Quote
Digsy Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 YES Hmmm. I could spend an hour listing everything which will fit behind the strutbrace or I could have a life........ Quote
H5 Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Easy, my rear tyre that I had removed at the weekend, doesn't fit in the boot, had to lift it over the strut brace. How else would you get a golf bag in there too........?? Quote
DJ Dunk Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 I'm guessing ir_fuel means carrying stuff in the boot, over the strut brace, with the hatch shut, not passing stuff over it with the hatch open Quote

I'm not sure you could. My original comment was about how easy it is to scratch when lifting over it. He's an obscure fella that ir_fuel! Quote
ir_fuel Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 Ow, you scratch when lifting OVER the strut brace? Ok i get it, you lot are just clumsy Quote
