is there any way to block images

is there any way on firefox to block specific images on websites. for example, parts of the banner at the top of the forum.

 

styles/350Z/theme/images/midr.png

 

and

 

styles/350Z/theme/images/midl.png

 

it would make the site less.... obvious

Dont think you can John. I think you have to block all images from a site or allow them - all or nothing. No harm in saying no images though, you'll just have to type the smilies yourself

try right clicking on the browser and going to page info, then go to the media tab and click block images, it works but im not to sure how excessive the block is without testing it fully ( when i did it i lost the top banners etc)

Blocks all images from the 350z-uk.com domain. All or nothing unless there is an add-on to FF to allow specific. I tried to add just the theme images folder and it just blocked everything from the domain

i just tried and photobucket/flickr [ IMG ] insertions still works so you can view uploaded pics etc if an external source was used

Yes it wont block all images on the page, only those hosted directly on the site (350z-uk.com) domain

yeah thats as far as I had got too. I dont mind typing the smileys, I do anyway but they wont display in other peoples posts I will have a hunt for a FF add on, although i dont know if i can modify the work firefox

I'd just turn off all images from the site. Will give quite a clean look. All the buttons should have ALT text so will show text links instead of images anyway

Yes you can, install the AdBlock Plus extension, you can block anything using a full URL or wildcards, e.g. http://350z-uk.com/*.png will block all png's on this site. For me this is a must have extension - I don't have any ads while browsing.
