Which engine is it?

Afternoon all,

Stepping up the hunt for a Z at the mo. I am seeing some cross-over between vehicle years and claimed power.

I have seen 2005 cars listed as 280 and 300 PS as have I seen 2006 cars listed as 300 and 313.

Is there any definitive way of checking the difference between the 3 engines via pictures or an actual visit?

I can see some unknowledgable/dodgy traders trying it on...

I will post a wanted ad in the appropriate section... (low miles GT, anything but silver!)

Thanks in advance.

--> 2005 is 276

2006 --> 2007 is 296 (up to 07 plate)

2007 --> is 313 (57 plate onwards)

313 is easy to spot as it will have 2 air intakes

The best way to spot the difference between a 276 and a 296 is the interior. The 296 shares the same interior as the 313.

Have a look at some of the pics on here of members cars and you will see.

Easy way to tell what engine you have

Timing cover on the 276 (DE) has a smooth surface

Timing cover on the 300 (rev up) has a dimpled surface

The 313 (HR) has twin intakes

Hope you don't mind me asking but the picture with the air induction kit.

I have one ready to fit. Were do you put the air sensor switch ie male as female is on the box

Do you just leave it dangling or is it best to just keep the ducting and take the box off hence keeping the sensor switch

as it is?

Sorry if I should have looked it up but I suffer from a rare headache disorder and can only spend 30 mins at a time looking at PC screen.

Kind regards in advance
