  1. RatedR, Not sure what's going on with the PM system but if you go onto the Pistonheads advert my contact details should be accessible through there. Thanks
  2. Hi RatedR, as my car is taking a few weeks more than expected to sell, I may me able to move a little on the price. So it may/may not meet your budget. Thanks
  3. Have they done the throttle reset procedure? Not sure how but my problem just disappeared after a brief while. Good luck with your search - I really feel for you on the Micra/Note thing. Shameful. I even demanded a Juke when the Z went in for a service last month - that was barely any better (even though it had a g-force meter, bizarrely)
  4. Pistonheads have changed their site around again! New link http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3489451.htm Why not add some fun to your Christmas by buying this for a friend or loved one? They would get to own a Z and you would be happy in the knowledge that you spent a smidge over 12 grand on one present...
  5. Thanks Roger, yep it's been well kept. The new link is http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used_cars/nissan/350z/2007_nissan_350z_gt_313bhp_sat_nav_low_miles/365247 as Pistonheads have revamped their site. Difficult time to sell a car!
  6. Upset/annoyed that I have to do this... But my beloved Zed needs to make way for something with back seats. Rather than re-typing everything, see the advert below. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3489451.htm It's in great condition, only ever fed super. Well priced for spec, but offers may be considered. In Manchester.
  7. Afternoon Zers. Just searched on connecting multiple phones to the BT system in the Z. Found a relevant post but was just wondering if anyone knows how it would choose one phone over the other. Or if it would be pot luck? Thanks guys.
  8. Do Z's have these? A Nissan mechanic told me this. But as it is not an all-out lightweight racer, I didn't think it was the case. A quick Google appears to confirm hearsay with other hearsay on other forums. Is it true? Would this not be the most expensive component in the car if it was?!
  9. Morning folks. Just thought I'd post an update to the ongoing saga. After just 1 day driving the forgettable Nissan Note courtesy car, I got a call to say my car was sorted. Great. What was it? perhaps it was the first thing I asked them to check, the first thing they SAID they had checked, the first thing anyone who knows about cars would have checked... the wheel balancing. Especially since the dealer refurbished 2 alloys and (I think) put new Accelera rubber all round, it was likely that this was the issue. So now it's fine. 300+ miles of to-ing and fro-ing for no real reason. But I did inexplicably get a new flywheel out of it. Has anyone's clutch ever slipped slightly under full acceleration? I am not sure if was slipping or not. Only done 24K so would be surprised if it was on its way out! Seech
  10. Just noticed that my needle pauses at about 1,000rpm on the way back down to idle. Mine is going back in on Tues for the juddering @85mph problem. Hopefully this will all get sorted. Anyone familiar with a Z specialist/tuner near Manchester? I have been told Lockwood & Greenwood before but it looked more like a generic servicing garage from the website - I thought they would at least mention if they specialised in Zeds!
  11. WTF? I am averaging 21.8, so she tells me. I did ask her why it was so low, but all I got in reply was, "PARDON?" I drive about 10 miles to work which is 9 miles motorway and 1 mile urban. I rarely go over 75 on the motorway! I have had an indicated 37mpg once, after cruising about 67mph. An instantaneous mpg readout would be good. Recently I drove very fast on some tight twisties and my fuel gauge stayed the same and mpg didn't budge - so now I am driving faster everywhere. Why not...
  12. "PARDON?" I wonder who that voice belongs to and what problem she had when she recorded those commands! Took me a fortnight of "PARDON?"s to realise that she didn't operate the sat Nav...!
  13. I have an 07 313 GT. Does the bluetooth phone system play through all speakers? Or just the driver's door speaker? If so, can I change it to all? The shitbox Micra that I had as a courtesy car had the phone call playing through the whole car, and it made for a far better conversation at speed (if you can call 1.2 3-cyl "speed"). Thanks
  14. The latest saga... Got the car back yesterday, noticed that the very low speed bunny hopping had gone. Great. Got on the motorway and the car was still fcking shaking. They hadn't even bothered to test it once the work was complete. It got me thinking. If the flywheel was knackered, it would vibrate at a certain rpm, say 5,000. So every time I hit 5,000 rpm, it would shake. But the problem is at a particular road speed, not engine speed. So that was never going to fix it. So it is either (I think): Dicky tyre(s), unbalanced wheel(s), unbalanced prop shaft. As the warranty I have from Nissan is a 3rd party extended warranty, I am going to see if I can take it to a specialist (you know - the people who know what they are doing) and see if they can sort it. Sick of it now. And I am not driving a fcking Micra courtesy car again.
  15. OK. The latest from Nissan is that they think it is the flywheel. New flywheel on order, arrives tomorrow. Seems an odd thing to go at just 23,000 miles, but if it sorts it, then great. The bouncing rev counter > they think that will be solved too, as the crank position sensor is in the same place (so they say) and the vibrations from the flywheel could have knocked this out of kilter. The bunny-hopping at low speeds > they assure me that this is a characteristic of the car. Sod knows. No one on here seems to suffer so not sure on that one. The suggestions on here were along the lines of checking the MAF sensor/throttle body housing/throttle position sensor. Nissan say everything is reading completely fine/within range. That only leaves the excessive fuel consumption. Subjective, I know, but it does seem like it drinks more than others on here. But again, if the sensors are reading within range (so I’m told), then it should be about right. Will get a further phone call tomorrow to hopefully ask me to pick her up and return Nissan’s ultimate track-weapon – the triple-cylindered Micra.
  16. Andlid > What would cause a flywheel to be improperly balanced? Tuning etc?

    My New Zed

You scared me then! Nope (thank fck), it was PL07...
  18. Do Nissan know best though? I fcking hope so! They said an engineer took the car out for a drive and that's how he came up with the diagnosis. Although it's funny how he did this without travelling over 70mph (say Nissan) - yet the problem only occurs at 80+... They weren't too specific on the details, hopefully I will have more info today and I will post it up. I have to get this Micra off my driveway. It's ruining all the street-cred the Z built up. 1.2 litre 3-cyl. Described by Jason Plato on last week's 5th Gear as "a turd". The only good thing about it is the brakes. They will stop the car on it's front two wheels leaving the back two 6 ft in the air. On a side note, does anyone know if the BT phone system should be coming through all speakers (a la Micra) or just the driver side? Can't seem to change it.
  19. Well. First of all, Nissan gave me a 60 plate Micra as a courtesy car. However well equipped, it's not a good replacement for a Z. Lucky the mrs has just taken delivery of a C250 CDI Sport. Otherwise I would be in a bad way. Anyway, Nissan called me and told me that they would look at the bouncy car/rev counter after they looked after the main issue - the juddering at high speed. It was not the balancing of wheels, as previously thought, it appears to be a dicky flywheel. Need to wait till Mon till I find out about the other issues...
  20. Are you sure James? That's what I thought at first...
  21. Maybe my fuel is not so far off then?! SteveW > Why are you not crying and suicidal? I would be uber upset in your position... unless you had trackday insurance?
  22. Well good luck with the repairs - I hope it doesn't cost you too much! As for the fuel, I am averaging 19.8mpg. And I am driving very slow and carefully, even though I have just bought the car. Another one to add to the list for Mr. Nissan, although if I say that my 3.5 litre is drinking too much fuel then I am sure I will get laughed out of the dealers! R
  23. Andyvvc - great help - thanks!
  24. Apologies if this has been covered before - I have had no joy searching... At low traffic speeds in 1st/2nd, when you accelerate forward does your car bounce/jump a little making it appear as if you have made a poor gear change? It can be a little annoying and appear to passengers that you can not change gear! I have noticed the rev needle bouncing around too - but an early post revealed a possible cause which is not linked. I will tell Nissan to sort it (goes in on Friday). Thank guys
