Clarkie Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Was in about the boot today and was wondering what this black box is? Thanks Quote
evest Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 It's the counterweight that helps your boot to close, against the force of the struts. You can take it out if you want to save (a bit of) weight, but then you will have to push harder to close your boot, as the struts will try to keep it open. Quote
ChrisS Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 As said tis but a weight. I'd worry about the bloke peeing in your petrol tank. Quote
Clarkie Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 I'm surprised a counterweight is needed, the boot is super heavy! Thanks for that, might just whap it oot, weight saving's always a bonus! Quote
