geoff-r Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I only just put my 370 back on the road, got my insurance documents through and they show the engine capacity as way off: Without calling them as I'm about to drive home, would this have any bearing on the price of my premium? Quote
Chris`I Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Nope. I pointed it out to mine, and they said its whats on the database They said the car model I have matches whats on the paperwork so I'm ok. Assume you will be too Check on http://www.askmid.com/ . If you are on there and listed as the right car everything is ok Quote
geoff-r Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 Ah useful, as long as it's okay, I know insurance companies can back out of anything but it's not my fault their database is clearly incorrect! I'll take your word for it, nice one mate Quote
Ebized Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 For anyone reading this and not sure of the cc, it is 3696. Quote
mpkayeuk Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Now, I had this argument with Admiral on the phone. They _insisted_ the details were correct or they wouldn't put me on cover point blank (I told them I wished I hadn't said anything, lol). They had 2 entries for the car, one was correct, the other was not. The one they seem to choose first is the incorrect one. Just double checked my certificate and it does have the correct engine capacity and is listed as a "370 Black Edition 40" - not sure if that is truncated and should read 40th Anniversary, but that's what it says on the certificate. I wouldn't take any chances with insurance. Quote
mpkayeuk Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Update. I just checked askmid.com and this is what it says: If you have a black and it doesn't say that then I'd advise you get it changed [EDIT] So I guess it's the same as everyone else, except my engine size is spot on. Quote
geoff-r Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Mine says this: The details on the MID are: Vehicle Make/Model: NISSAN 370Z BLACK EDITION 40TH If the vehicle make and model details are not correct you must contact your insurance provider to resolve the issue. So I'm guessing all is good. Quote
mpkayeuk Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I think you're still at risk if your certificate says the wrong capacity. There must be a correct entry on the DB as Admiral found it for me. It's your responsibility at the end of the day to ensure that all info is accurate. Quote
bronzee Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Knowing how insurance companies will use any excuse to wiggle out of things. I'd challenge that if I were you. Surely a quick phone call to a dealer on your insurance companies part and they can confirm, then the person you dealing with at the insurance company should phone head office and make sure they make the correction in their system surely?!
