chrisgunton Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Will the GS500 CAN OBDII EOBD2 Fault Code Reader Scanner OBD work with the 350Z? http://www.carparts-sale.com/gs500-can- ... -p-39.html For only £40 it's not bad to check things out easily or reset the ECU. Quote
Zugara Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 You can reset the ecu for free with the guide on here. Quote
chrisgunton Posted January 2, 2011 Author Posted January 2, 2011 Which Ive read But I'd like a reader to actually read any codes first (hopefully a reader that'll work with my parents cars too). Quote
Lexx Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 you can get the car to display the codes using the indicators. Set number of flashes/sequence, relate to each code. you then just look it up in the list. There's a further guide on it somewhere around here. Quote
chrisgunton Posted January 2, 2011 Author Posted January 2, 2011 I'm actually liking this one more: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Launch-CReade ... 3cb1d7ed8f That should work with any 1996+ Nissan or Fiat yes? Quote
Neilp Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 save your cash, the codes get displayed by the car so you dont need it Quote
Sam Mcgoo Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 Do you have a laptop or smart phone? If so I bought one of these; http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 051wt_1128 Haven't had a chance to play with it fully but it successfully displayed my fault codes and reset them. Also displays certain information such as speed, intake temp, coolant temp etc.... As I said I haven't had a proper play with stuff like logging the information yet but seems to work OK so far. Can be used with the supplied software or downloaded software. On my HTC the TORQUE app also works well. Quote
