Hi All

Sorry I have a few newbie questions that are starting to bug me.

I have a Late O6 Plate Zed

1. The car seems harder to steer at low speeds?

2. The steering seems to wander a bit at speed?

3. Can you have the alarm make a chipping noise when armed/disarmed?

4. Can you the alarm be set to auto lock/ unlock the doors when you start driving or start the car?

Thanks

Keith

1) Speed sensitive steering?

2) Tracking sounds out?

3) No idea what a chipping noise is!

4) No.

The owners manual says this can be done?

By pressing the unlock and the lock together for a few seconds, also says I can wind down the winders via the key fob.

Is this just a US car only thing?

I might wander out and try a few of these in a minute! My Scirocco you could wind the windows down by pressing and holding the unlock button, similarly put them up by pressing and holding the lock button.

Also, most cars you can plug in and mess around with the computer settings, on the Scirocco the 'chirp' was available if you plugged in a VAG system and changed the internal settings of the cars computer...not sure if the Zed is quite there with that?

Did find out that if you hold the lock and unlock key together for about 10 seconds. You will no longer need to press the unlock twice to open the passenger door.

Cool

chirping is a US thing on alarms, removed from euro spec factory alarms back in the 90's to stop noise pollution

Do we think they just disabled it or they changed the alarm for EU.

So if I got a US 4 button key fob and tried program it would it not work? £60 experiment.

a trip to a decent nissan dealearship then, they might be able to adjust the alarm settings in the ECU through the OBD port using their scan tool

You will find the UK ecu will not allow you have the US specs - I enquired about this with my previous 350 and the same goes for the 370 - so don't believe everything you read in the handbook - its written for world-wide use and there are a whole host of things that differ dependent on thecountry importing

No doubt some electronic whizz might find a way round it but Nissan UK certainly won't help
