Fitting Bose unit from another car?

If I get a bose unit that has been removed from another Z & has been 'divorced' from that car, Can I put it in my car & have it work straight away?

Yeah, I'm thinking its most likley to be a no but I don't know for sure & don't want to waste money buying one if it won't work

I'm sure I've read they are tied into the ecu some way.

Yeah but if its been divorced from that ecu how easy is it to install in another Z?

i think the only other thing you need is the code pin number. if it displays 'secure' im sure if you leave it 30 mins on the ignition it allows you to put a pin in.

You may need to plug it into some sort of diagnostic machine to get it working.... probly expensive at a Dealer... Im sure a tasteful single din type unit wouldnt detract from any sale...

Yeah, I'll probably go for a cheap single din unit. Would prefer a bose though if I can get it working
