Sat in traffic

Hi Guys,

 

Have an 04 350z GT and while sat stationary it seems like the car is shaking or stutaring, i know it's hard to describe but has anyone else noticed this?

turn the aircon on. It ticks over better with it on. Its normal

probs gathering heat from the engine bay aswell into the air intake

if its still really obvious after turning air con on you could hunt round for an air leak around the plenum

have you got an aftermarket intake? or installed a plenum spacer? might be like husky said, plenum not sealed right or bogging from the intake

Mine does this! Just assumed it must be normal! revs go up and down a tiny bit and car shakes a little sometimes. I'll give the aircon thing a try next time I'm idling for a bit, Good tip! Cheers!

 

350z seems to have plenty random noises which you need to learn to ignore I reckon. Main one being the gearbox/clutch which seems to make all sorts of random noises!

I switched on the air con and it seemed to make a difference.

best to leave the aircon ON all the time, this prevents any misting of the screen and avoids the bad smell that you get if you keep turning it on and off

eh hangon, something aint right if it's hunting like that? whats your battery like and alternator? check battery with a multimeter and then start the car and see that its about 13.7 to the battery to see that the alternator is working as its supossed to. Check the air intake filter and take off the intake pipe and check the throttle body might be manky scanky.

+1 clean the throttle body. Make sure you have the throttle reset procedure to hand for afters.
