Installing a new head unit

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Having considered what feels like every head unit on the market, I have decided to go for a JVC to replace the Bose. I have never installed anything like this before, but having the forum gives me enough confidence to give it a go. That's probably a bad thing but hey :)

I have had a search through previous posts and think I have worked out what I need, but I would appreciate someone giving my list the once over before I order it all. I have a 2007 facelift - I understand that makes a difference when choosing components.

JVC KW-AVX830 Head Unit:

iPod Connector:

Fascia:

Adapter:

Steering Wheel Adapter Part 1:

Steering Wheel Adapter Part 2:

Am I right in thinking I don't need an aerial converter with the JVC head unit?

So fire away, what have I got wrong or missed? :)

Cheers, Wes

Hi,

Just had a PM conversation with Kev (busa1300) who has put me straight and even offered to help me put it in if I have trouble, so I think I am sorted already.

Thanks again Kev!

I know milton keynes is a bit of a trek from hampshire but a spirited drive on the A34 to MK its quite a nice drive!

I went to four marks last year to pick a car up!

OR guidance over the phone if you brave enough to do it!

Cheers Zugara, I was going to do the same and document it, but am more than happy for you to lead the way ;)

Even if it is hard work, I think there are definitely benefits to us doing it ourselves as there may be other stuff we want to add etc.

If the next topic you post is asking about dashboard repairs I will know it hasn't gone well. :)
