Demolition49 Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Tryed a search and couldnt find anything related to my problem so... somtimes when i turn the wheel on my Z i can hear this ever so tiny squeak as if the steering wheel needs oiling or somthing, but it doesnt feel like its inside the cabin more in the engine bay... hmm i dont know... no idea anybody had somthing similar? Demolition49 Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 So its defo those belts causing the problem? how are they related to my steering? Quote
Chris`I Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Sounds like belts to me. Does it do it more when its cold? If so thats the belts. Dont know why it does it, I would guess its due to more pressure on the power steering pump which causes the belt to slip slightly. Quote
Demolition49 Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 To be totally honest i am not sure if it does it more when cold, i dont think it does?! I will check when i drive the Z tonight Quote
Demolition49 Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 Ok just checked so its totally intermittent i drove the car for 40 mins and then it only squeaked a little once when i was stationary turning the wheel to manouver. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Top up you PAS fluid if required and/or fit new belts Quote
Ian Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Mine did this & has gone now that I've got new belts & a fluid change. It also helps that I fished out the nut I dropped in there about a year ago & couldn't find Quote
