boot keep falling down

Hi guys,

 

After I installed the nismo V2 spoiler, my boot just doesnt stay open anymore Just wonder anyone of you know where can I get a damper for the boot which is strong enough to keep it open... many thx

not really ice and electronics

but its a common issue and you can get the struts gassed up to a higher pressure. if you search you will find lots of info like the removal of heavy bits inside the boot lid

Have I done something wrong in removing the bloody great weight behind the trim in my boot lid instead of replacing the struts then?

removing the weight will make no difference as the weight barely weighs anything at all!

 

Cheapest option is to regass your original struts, there's a thread somewhere with the company details - costs around £35 is memory serves me correctly.

 

Other option is new struts, a few of the traders on here stock them.

Removing the weight made all the difference to me.

 

Admittedly it doesn't weigh as much as the spoiler (weight is about 1kg ish, the spoiler at a guess weighs about 2-3kg) but after removing it the boot springs up just as it's supposed to.

mine must be really tired.removed the weight and the boot lid still wont stay up.going to fine a way instead of the broom handle i use soon.
