Removed Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Ok guys, it's early enough, but since I spent 3 weeks in Europe during summer 2005 and thought it was one of the best driving holidays ever, why not organise a European meet somewhere central? I know the Italians would be up for it and so would the Swiss (last I heard from them anyway) so it's a matter to see who'd be interested and put something together, to have time to organise. register your interest, ideas etc here
mugwump Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Sounds like a plan is afoot..... I'll go anywhere so long as its twisty.
Sarnie Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 Sounds like a plan is afoot..... I'll go anywhere so long as its twisty. any prospective dates yet?
Removed Posted August 29, 2006 Author Posted August 29, 2006 no dates yet I'd say either July or August. I personally will want to make it at least a couple of weeks, but I guess people can join in when they like once the itinerary is ready.
mugwump Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 I personally will want to make it at least a couple of weeks Not much luggage space in the Zed, gues I'll have to turn my pants inside out!

Sarnie Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 July/August is fine for me as long as I still have my zed

Chesterfield Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I think the roadsters tardis would have to be used again. And I'd second the no camping call too!
Jacko Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Yep. I'd defo be interested! Always wanted to do this and after reading some of the Evo reviews of the passes........ mmmmm lets go!
captint Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 Count me in too. It would be nice to get Le Mans in too, however its Mid June, but a great start to a tour.

Jacko Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 good stuff, will start the ball rollign with the other clubs too then suggestions for location? what about switzerland? with trip to Novidem? mountain passes hmmmmm Yes it we don't do some mountain passes, then whats the point! ....... just think of the roads, scenery, tunnels and good company (and sarnie! ) ..... We HAVE to have mountain passes.....
CDR_UK Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 What about passing via the ardenne region of belgium - stopping off for a day at francorchamps... then heading over to the eiffel mountains in germany - spending some time at the nurburgring, and then heading south through switzerland into italy, back into france and then back to the UK? I was at Spa and nurburgring last weekend with the UK MLR register and GTROC - great time was had by all - despite the wet weather!
buds Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Personally im eay in regards to locations/routes etc. But i think it best to get that all tied down one way asap. Ta for the organising Val, good man!
Removed Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 CDR we can't really include so many tracks... partners would shoot us!
Sarnie Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 CDR we can't really include so many tracks... partners would shoot us! Ditch the partners then
Removed Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 CDR we can't really include so many tracks... partners would shoot us! Ditch the partners then no can do, especially if I take 2 weeks off. if we make it shorter (but then imo it's rushed) then I could

Removed Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 we could include one track visit and for those who want to go on it, maybe two, but not a trackday holiday
CDR_UK Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 You could leave the partners at the thermal center in spa whilst driving at francorchamps, and then just ask them to put up with one day at the nurburgring - hardly a major sacrifice
