Zed Satnav?

Worth having or not?

 

ie should I be discounting cars that don't have it?

 

If you don't have it, presumably it's just a pocket behind the flap? Not looked at a nonsatnav car yet.

You can get a great satnav from a member on here called nurrish.

 

do a search and you can see pics of it etc.

 

I've heard the standard satnavs aren't great anyhow.

Mine didn't have SatNav, just leaves a little cubby. Its a piece of c*ap anyway, doesn't take postcodes. You can get a custom one from Nurrish (Dave) which is a lot lot better.

I've got the standard satnav and have just purchased a system from Nurrish to replace it

 

Couple of reasons;

1.No touch screen

2.Difficult to get updates

3.No postcode support

 

Need I say more

i use a pioneer system that fits in the cubby and its far superior to anything i've yet to see in a zed. costs more, but definatly worth it.

I've currently got the Nissan Birdview system in my zed but hardly use it as it's not very user friendly ...

 

I'm probably gonna go down the nurrish system route too in the new year sometime ...

I have the Birdview system and use it all the time. Lack of post code doesn't cause that much trouble. I think it really makes the dash stand out as well. I go on a lot of weekend breaks etc and it's great fo finding hotels and places to visit. Doesn't look as pretty as the latest TomToms but does the job just fine. Traffic has worked great for me too (not sure what version this was standard on).

 

The main thing I miss is being able to add POIs, especially my lifetime subscription to the speed camera data base

 

I wouldn't have paid for it new but I think it was worth it for a small premium, if any, on a second hand car.
