I'd get the Vacuum cleaner out and remove what dust you can from all openings as a first step. :thumbs:

PC full of dust and cat/dog hair can trip PSU easily.

got home, unplugged it form the mains, waited 10 seconds and turned it on. Working fine, so hopefully it just got its knickers in a twist but from now on I'll leave it turned on at the mains.

Glad you got it sorted Mike, sounds like the psu locked up. :)
