**Wanting Exhaust restored back to new**

Hey

 

**Want my exhaust pipes looking new. **

 

My car was purchased used and exhausts were not like new:D

Tried cleaning them as best i could and still not in new form.

(Exhaust not rusted)

 

Is there anyway i could get my exhausts looking new?? Is it possile to get new ends?

 

halfords this any good. Or is it better to Get a Pro to do it?

one word - Autosol

 

Grab a tube from Halfords, it's about a fiver IIRC and it looks like a toothpaste tube.

 

It will restore the shine no matter how bad they are.

 

I used about a quarter of the tube cleaning mine at first, but I now use a tiny amount maintaining the look.

 

And it doesn't take two hours of elbow grease either - it really is top stuff

Good advice, you wont believe what that stuff can do to tired metal.

Yup 100% agree - I have found it much better than a lot of car cleaning branded products.

 

I am about to clean my exhaust with it which look like they have not been cleaned in 2 years (got the car yesterday)

Hey Did what you told me!!!!!!

 

Went into Halfords and ask staff there. Got this steel cleaning thing.

And yes looked like a tube of tooth paste.

 

Got home and applied it, THEN GUESS WHAT its started to show a side ive never seen from the exhausts. I could see my own reflection in it. Dont know why i didnt use this forum earlier about it.

Awwww I feel all warm and fuzzy now (and no I ain't pee'd myself) but ain't it nice when you get some good advice like this that just makes things sooooooo easy!

 

Anyway, I'm going to try some of this on the 2nd hand DC sports I got. Silvo didn't work..... so this is next!

I've used Autosol for years, and always found it restored chrome or other metals very well. Used it when I got my Z 3 months ago, and have only just had to give it another clean last weekend.

Never heard of that product before.... WHY?!? Now I know what's been missing from my life! The amount of time I have sent scrubbing my exhaust and not got anywhere close to clean!

Surely the marketing manager for the company that makes this need a swift kick, could surely make millions overnight.....

Mine was in worse state than Robs but with hard black stuff around the rim of the exhaust that took me ages to get off. I had to be patient with that part.

 

Good job Rob!!!!!!!! Like NEW! mine turned out the same. Its a Must buy!

Go to Halfords and ask for AUTOSOL, its in a silver small tooth paste like box.

Its very supprising that one of the big cleaning companies haven't tried to buy into them and sell it. If it was marketed well it would be a killer. IMO can't be beaten for cleaning any sort of stainless etc.

Autosols very good stuff,

 

If your feeling lazy and the exhausr is off the car, you can use acids to get the worse of it off then finish the job off with autosol ,.,
