Wireless Internet Connection - HELP!!!

I need some proper IT help before I smash my laptops up the wall!!!!!

I have two laptops, One Sony one (mine) and one Dell one (The Mrs')

The sony one is running XP and the Dell, Vista.

I have a wireless internet connection via a Netgear router.

The dell laptop runs fine, smoothly and quickly and very rarely drops the internet connection.

The sony laptop that I use to work on, drops the connection at least once every 5 minutes meaning I have to manually right click on the connections icon and manually choose my connection and reconnect. The majority of the time when this happens the screens lock up which is soooooooo frustrating.

I used to think it was either the laptop or the router but the fact that the dell runs fines proves to my mind that the connection is ok so it must either be the Sony laptop is either dying a slow death or its not set up correctly.

Any IT guru's care to help me find out what the problem is? Pwetty pweeeeeeeeeeease?

:surrender:
