HampshireRob Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Just phoned today and they declined to offer a quote (even before taking any personal details). Said they had a car black-list delivered from their main policy provider this week (Highway Insurance) and the 350Z is on it. Looks like we've been putting two many into the ditch this year. Rob. Edited the title as it would appear this is applicable to under 25's only, regards Chesterfield Quote
had ham Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 I just insured my brand new 350Z with Highway (5 weeks ago???) via a Broker! Quote

The insurers have increased the minimum age to 25 for our insurance scheme due to a high claims loss ratio for performance vehicles driven by the under 25's. You also must have at least 1 year's NCB (unless you have NCB on a second car or a company car letter to state at least 1 year's claim free driving). We understand that not everyone has claimed in this age category but the insurers are 'playing safe' for future business. Quote
Chesterfield Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 So could it be said that the blacklist is not car specific for everyone, but only car specific for under 25's? If so, we'll change the thread title for clarification. Quote
Pimm Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Must be more women drivers owning 350 z these days. Quote
CK@Chris Knott Insurance Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 So could it be said that the blacklist is not car specific for everyone, but only car specific for under 25's? Yes, the 350Z performs very well but not when driven by under 25's. (That's only on this particular scheme, it's not generic!). Quote
kustard Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Will this result in subsequent lower premiums for the over 25's? Quote
CK@Chris Knott Insurance Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Will this result in subsequent lower premiums for the over 25's? It may certainly help in the future but I think the insurers will just see how things go first. Quote
Chris`I Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Is that for everyone on the policy or just for the main driver? I'm guessing for everyone, which is a shame as my missus is 24yrs and been driving my Zed over a year. Was looking forward to a good deal this year Quote
martinmac Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 At the end of the day its a risk assessment based on statistics. Quote

Stew Posted March 6, 2009 Posted March 6, 2009 Sounds like a great excuse NOT to insure my other half again! Quote
