Looking to go onto my next project in terms of ICE and im looking to pass on my existing system to someone who is looking for a complete integrated gps system for the fraction of the cost of the Nissan birdview.

Some of you may remember the thread which detailed the construction of the system.

Back is tided up now

heres a video of it in action

http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=2rwp5r7&s=4

highlights include:

IGO8 2008 with latest maps

music player

video player

input for external video source (ie. reversing camera/console)

Bluetooth for hands free communication

FM transmitter

All you need is to connect it to the stereo ignition wire and ground it.

Looking for around £350 shipped - part exchange your cubby (03 model) and get it for £320

Looks sweet - does it connect up into the standard head unit for sound output?

Whats the music storage capacity?

do you have a video of it booting up? how quickly is it up and running?

The only way to connect to the bose stereo is through its fm transmitter. It uses SD cards i have only used a 2gb stick. Havent got a video of it booting but from a cold boot it takes 10 seconds but after that you can put it into sleep mode which then resumes in 1 second

Yup, I can confirm that it is very B)

Was impressed with how responsive it is and the sleep/resume is instant.

You cant tell the screen isn't OEM until you turn it on either.

Looking forward to the next one!

(not sure about the 2x black alloys mod though )

Look forward to seeing it bud, wish i had the knowledge to make something like this up, allways fancied a car pc in the zed, or something similar B)

TBH, if you want to venture in to CarPCs, you cant get a better car than the Zed for it. The cubby already has the perfect hole for the screen and the rear glove box is perfectly placed for the PC itself. Its also a doddle to run the wires from the battery to the glove box and also from the glovebox to the screen. Now is the time if you want to give it a go. Plenty on here have done it
