Removing rear wiper

There was discussion about this on the forum a couple of years ago. Has any one removed theirs? It just seems a bit of a pointless item. I didn’t have one on my Prelude – I never found that a problem.

 

This leads to a more general question. You always get rear wipers on hatchbacks, but never on saloons – what gives??

Kev from Envy removed his recently and he said he had had no issues.

 

Speed and Rain-x or PIAA silicone wash and screen wipe rids mine of water!!

Have removed mine as well, no problems at all, just pretty logical to remove it really!

What do you do to fill and hide the hole left on the boot lid? What about the washer jet, I take it you took that off too?

I used a simple gromet that was about 50p from a local motor factots although it is now being smoothed out while the car is in the shop. If you take out the washer jet, you need to either remove or clamp the piping that feeds it. Again, you can replace this with another gromet.

i also took mine off whilst the car was in the bodyshop, smoothed over the wiper hole and i have a plastic gromit bonded over the washer hole.

 

never wished i hadnt done it and rain x also helps

I ended up only using the one for the washer, as the bodyshop closed the wiper hole.
