ANDYB350Z Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Hi guys I imported a 2003 350Z from japan and have recently had to take to car to nissan in preston as i thought my clutch was burning out, as it turns out it needs a new cluth and fly wheels at the total cost will be £1500. I know a mechanic who can do it much cheaper and I have seen the clutch and flywheel kits on ebay for around 250. However nissan say these probably not fit the car as there for euro spec cars and not Jap models. Can anybody help or tell me where I can get the appropriate parts for a impoer or are nissan telling me c**p and are they the same ? any help would be most appreciated Andy Quote
martinmac Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Hi bud, welcome to the forum. As a rule dont buy anything from Nissan they are too expensive. If you contact one of the traders on here they will sort you with the right bits and for the right price Quote

M13KYF Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 speak to BigPhil at ESR or send him a pm. Does a very good price for the clutch and can fit them too. some more info here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... ght=clutch and Quote
lomoto Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Avoid Nissan main dealers, they are the worst place to have a350z repaired Quote
nixy Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 euro spec? sounds like a load of bull to me but big phil should sort you out with the parts you need. Quote
ANDYB350Z Posted April 18, 2008 Author Posted April 18, 2008 Ah my 350z brother ! a breath of fresh air I am currently arguing with nissan as they want me to pay 525 for the clutch claiming they can not return the item, crap !!! also 295 labout fee. So im gonna go spill a little blood and get my car back and get sorted out thanks guys ! Ow you all a pint Quote
rmmackfc Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Ow you all a pint That gonna cost ya more than £1500 Quote
martinmac Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Ow you all a pint That gonna cost ya more than £1500 Nissan dont do beer but if they did ........ Quote
matth76 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Surely as long as it is a manual the euro manual clutch and flywhee and jdm manual clutch and flywheel are all the same?! I too would avoid a main dealer. You'l get far more experience and half the price at a 350 specialist. Not sure why you would need a flywheel replaced unless there was something wrong with the car (more than just the clutch). Bet it was nissan who told you you needed a clutch and flywheel. Quote
N15MNO-Daron Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 If it needs replacing .. why not upgrade them to an aftermarket product? Light weight flywheel and performance clutch will make u smile more often Quote
