Third Party Advertisement Photographs

Recommended Posts

I have just come across a photograph of my car on a random companies website advertising a part that wasn’t even purchased from them. It has been doctored to remove the Tarmac Sportz  decals. Cheeky feckers!

I can only presume that they obtained it from here! Should I be annoyed or is it a complement?

Send them an invoice for £150 usage fee. I'm a full time pro photographer and can tell you what they have done is theft. They are a business too so that's bang out of order. If they had asked you I'd say be flattered and oblige but to not ask is a crime and they should pay you.

Just my thoughts.

PS: screen grab your evidence ;)

Problem is that it is shared on an online database; photobucket. I do not expect a royalty, simply frustrated that they are using it for their own financial gain. The part isn’t even their product.

Over the years I've had numerous examples of the same sometimes with the reg or without and always took it as a complement.

You could argue they are falsely advertising work/services/products that are not their own. So misselling their own products?
